Employment Opportunity: Administrative Assistant
The Nova Scotia Regulated Health Professions Network (the Network) is inviting applications for a part-time administrative assistant.
The administrative assistant is a part-time employee and works remotely from a home office. There is flexibility to work evenings and weekends. They will support the Network and the Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology (NSBEP) for ten hours per week. Work hours may increase to cover staff vacations and if the organizations’ workload increases. Taking on additional hours would be optional.
The purpose of the Network is to foster and enable collaboration among regulated health professions in a manner that upholds and protects the public interest, through enhanced regulation by the health professions. The Network’s membership includes the 22 regulated health professions in Nova Scotia.
General Responsibilities
Support day-to-day operations, including responding to telephone calls and emails, scheduling meetings, processing invoices, and posting website and social media content;
Support the Network’s recruitment of volunteers, including receiving applications and communicating with applicants;
Maintain a database of the Network’s volunteers;
Receive and process requests from regulators’ staff and volunteers to access the Network’s learning management system (LMS);
Support volunteers to access the LMS;
Assist with the maintenance of the NSBEP registrant database, including updating records/uploading files, and documenting communication with registrants and applicants;
Receive and process NSBEP supervision forms;
Complete clerical aspects of the NSBEP online application process completed by applicants for registration, including receiving and organizing documentation, saving application items to the applications folder and updating applicant checklist in database, identifying any missing items, and answering general enquiries pertaining to the application process.
Qualifications, Skills and Attributes
Experience working or volunteering with a regulatory body (preferred)
Understanding of the regulation of professions
Experience with the use of an online learning management system (LMS)
Experience entering content onto website and social media platforms
Experience maintaining a database
Nova Scotia Board of Examiners in Psychology
